Share Buy Backs and the 99%

By: Robert Grosshandler | February 27, 2018

In yesterday’s NY Times, there was an article about how the recent change in the tax code is causing some companies to increase their stock buy backs.  We’ve got nothing against buy backs, fwiw, but the article makes the point that this doesn’t help the 99% very much.

And that’s one of the biggest reasons we created iConsumer.  To make the 99% benefit just the way the 1% benefits when things like this happen.  The Times article states “… the richest 10 percent of American households, who own 84 percent of all stocks.  The top 1 percent of households own about 40 percent of all stocks.”

It doesn’t have to be us versus them.  If we can give everybody a stake in the economic future, we’re all better off.

So if and when iConsumer does a stock buy back, it’ll help the 99%.
